"Statistical Process Control" Training Program
Description:
SPC is a tool
used to monitor a process during its operation in order to control
the quality of the products while they are being produced, rather
than relying on inspection to find problems after the fact.
It involves gathering information about the product, or the process
itself, on a near real-time basis so that the process
attendant/engineer can take action on the process immediately an
out-of-control condition is detected.
SPC identifies special causes of variation and other non-normal
processing conditions, thus bringing the process within control,
potentially before defective product is actually produced. Having
effective process control techniques that are effectively
implemented, drastically reduces scrap, rework and additional costs
associated with defective material.

The programme is split over 3 modules and runs for a total of 10
hours with a short break half way in between sessions.

Target
Audience:
This course is intended for personnel interested in driving a
process and product improvement cycle. It is anticipated that middle
managers, supervisors, team leaders and foremen who are involved in
the task of achieving improvement, should stand to gain in this
regard.
Key operators who are likely to be involved in the implementation of
SPC should also benefit from such a course since they develop an
understanding to the underlying principles to this technique.
After completing the course, candidates will be able to:
• understand and develop a positive attitude to
prevention systems
• understand the key concepts of SPC and its
implementation
• apply SPC techniques to process control and follow up
on problem analysis
This is a middle management course that will expose delegates to the
principles of SPC and offer an understanding to apply it to their
own processes.
